Courses leading to these qualifications are being offered by an expanding number of centres throughout the UK and abroad.

In addition to Ofqual accredited awards, PIABC also ‘quality assures’ other qualifications that are outside the Ofqual accreditation system. Typically these are designed by PIABC-approved centres, and are specialist awards which, because of their nature and low volume, are not applicable to Ofqual accreditation. These include:
  • The Evaluators Qualification in Packaging Technology (EQIPT), which is designed by The Packaging Society, and is for those who evaluate companies for compliance against the BRC/IoP packaging standard.
  • The Innovative and Sustainable Food Programme
In 2011, PIABC portfolio of qualifications will be expanded to include a number of wood qualifications.

Please note: From 1st January 2011 no new learners will be registered on the National Framework of Qualifications: Level 2 NVQ for Packaging Operators (Qualification Accredited Number: 100/5833/3); Level 3 Certificate in Packaging (Qualification Accredited Number: 100/3202/2); and the Level 4 Diploma in Packaging Technology (Qualification Accredited Number: 100/3188/1). Existing learners will have until certification end date, which is 31 December 2012, to complete and claim certification for these three qualifications.
